When travelling from #a2bviasea you often stumble upon a real gem. I found my oasis in the form of St. Mary's - a beautiful island within the Isles of Scilly, around a three hour ferry ride from Penzance aboard Scillonian 3, located within UK waters.
With its own micro-climate Mediterranean and tropical plants thrive.
The sea is clear and turquoise in colour and gently laps against the soft white sand beaches and with a gleaming cruise ship moored out in the bay it really feels like you are in the Caribbean!
The town of St. Mary's is a short ten minute walk from the ferry where an array of independent restaurants, shops, hotels and bars do booming business in the summer months.
